Baby shower 101 was created for new moms, friends and family members who are going to throw the baby shower. I wanted to make a portal where everyone can go to get free content in helping make planning less stressful for everyone as well as add some creativity to the baby shower if needed. A key fact to remember is that you are throwing this party for a good friend, sister, daughter, or family member and that being with good friends and family is the biggest value of the party. It does not have to be over the top (unless that is the way the mommy-to-be likes it to be :) Just make sure to have a good time with memorable things planned for the party since the biggest value during the baby shower is friendship, love, and excitement of a new little one joining the community of friends and family!

Baby Shower Question of the Month: Ok this is my baby shower dilemma. My mother and mother in law are throwing my baby shower but they want me to tell them what I want and the only thing I can decide on is is the baby shower games. I have been given suggestions for a cook-out, being that the date is mid June. I don't really want to cook instead of bring in baby shower food. I really need help and suggestions. Baby Shower - Summer Summer planning for a baby shower can be really fun since there are many more ideas for shower venues (indoor and outdoors) due to the warm weather. Get into the season by creating a baby shower theme of summer by bringing in warm colors (reds, yellows, orange, and vibrant colors) into the baby shower decorations. Use sunflowers, cut outs of sun, beach and palm trees to make the room festive. You can sprinkle sand on the tables or baby shower centerpieces. Cut out summer icons and have the baby shower guests write down some baby advice for the new parents. Get a camera and take pictures of each baby shower guest and place each photo with the flower to place into a memory scrapbook! There are other great baby shower photo opportunities which we have more of on our photo page. A cute baby shower game for the beginning of summer is called "Whose Water Breaks First. All you need is clear plastic cups and minature plastic babies. Prior to the day of the baby shower, fill plastic cups with water, enough to cover the plastic baby toys at least halfway (since they may float). Place the cups in the freezer until frozen stiff (you need to prep the night before). The day of the baby shower party, give a cup to all the baby shower participants as they arrive. Whoever can melt the water the quickest or their water breaks gets the prize. The baby shower attendees can try to melt by blowing hot air on it or putting it in the sun (everything goes, let them get creative). A cute baby shower gift is to get the mommy-to-be some baby beachware including pails, shovels, sifters, beach chair with covering or anything else the baby can play with at the beach. It is a great time to get outdoors and enjoy the weather! Just make sure to check the weather report to make sure there are no June showers. A great idea is to choose a baby shower venue that you can enjoy inside and out! Remember that mommy-to-be may feel uncomfortable in the sun so have her dress appropriately with fans and air conditioning if at an outside venue! Baby shower food can stick with the holiday spirit by being placing sun flowers around the plates and tables. Strawberries, grapes, cherrys and fragrant pineapples are in season and make great munchies! Cucumber finger sandwiches, celery, salads, and colorful jelly bellies are fun and great tasting!
